We tried a few different woods before settling on beech for the removable pieces. It’s a dense hardwood. It’s heavier and harder than the lightweight plywood often used for children’s puzzles. That means it is significantly more durable and holds up well to regular play. It gives the pieces a nice solid weight in the hand.

Our wooden puzzles are designed for children aged 2 years and older, where indicated on the individual product. Age recommendations should always be checked on the packaging, as these may vary between products.

The puzzles have been tested for use from age 2+ and passed applicable safety requirements relating to small parts and removable components. The chunky pieces are designed to be easy for small hands to hold and play with.

As with all children’s products, adult supervision is recommended at all times and suitability ultimately depends on the individual child.
